The book also shows us that we cannot run away from our problems. Our problems will chase us down and finally, to death.
Synopsis
One beautiful summer evening, just like any other day, JK Bowery enjoyed his life. JK Bowery was an old fellow in the city of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was known for his selfishness and not a lot of people in the city liked him. He was just a “rich, miserable fellow.” A bell rang, and he went to the door merrily to open the door. It was the last door he was ever going to open.
The next morning, police “Do Not Cross” tapes were all over the house of JK Bowery and investigators swarming around the houses. Out of the investigators, Morgan Le Fay was the most known one. He was a 6 foot 2, middle aged man that was respected greatly. He was known for his intelligence in solving hard cases. As he investigated, he met Philip, an orphan. Philip begged Morgan if he could be his assistant but Morgan rejected and said “no” after “no”. As he was talking to Philip, he spotted a beautiful girl at the investigation site. She approached Morgan and he starts to get nervous. Out of nervousness, Morgan finally says “yes” to Philip. Philip is shocked and confused and starts jumping around like a crazy lunatic out of happiness. Morgan immediately falls in love with Malena. Morgan is totally in love with Malena but there are lots to find out about Malena.
As the case goes on, there are no clues at all. Even Morgan’s rival, Dobson Westerman, hasn’t found a single clue. It’s been weeks and all the suspects are wrong. Dobson desperately breaks into the house of Morgan so he could see what Morgan has. Dobson and his assistant threaten Philip while Morgan is away and tries to find any clues. After seeing nothing, Dobson and his assistant messes up the house of Morgan. As the story progresses, Morgan and Malena fall in each other more and more.
One morning, Morgan decides to go to the house of JK Bowery once more to investigate. He moves around the furniture of the big, spacious house of JK Bowery. He tries to imagine the murder inside his head looking at the house. As he does so, he finds a string of hair in the ground. He notices that it’s not a short hair but a very long hair. He goes back to the house and tells Philip about it. Philip thinks the murderer might be Morgan’s girlfriend, Malena. Morgan at first refuses to listen to Philip but after a bit,he has no choice but to admit it. He decides to finally talk to Malena about it and as he opens the door of Malena’s house, there is no one in the house and Malena has left the city already.
Morgan and Philip are on a new mission to find Malena. They go to the bordering cities and try finding her. Going to couple cities, they still cannot find her. Finally at the Big Sandy City, they find her at the motel. They go up the stairs and into the room. No one is there and it’s quiet. As they open up the bathroom, Malena is there, bloody in the tub. Morgan breaks down and the commissioner comes in the room. They take the body and take it to the lab. As they closely look at the body, they figure out that the body isn’t exactly Malena but some other girl that looks like her.
They start the search again and in the city of Concord, they find her. They find her and she is there, at the corner, with a gun at her head. Morgan tries to stop her from shooting but before he even speaks, she shoots herself. The corner of the room is stained with blood and Malena on the floor, dead. Morgan is despaired and cannot control his emotion. He feels as if he had lost everything. For a while, he goes through therapy then one morning, he falls asleep.

A Sneak Peek :D
Chapter 1: The Murder
It was an interesting dark, October night. It seemed like a perfect day for a murder. The murderer is unknown of its gender but he will be referred to as “he” for now. The murderer slowly approached the door steps of J.K. Bowery’s property. The house was huge and anyone could clearly tell that Bowery was a rich fellow. Around the house was a beautiful garden full of all kinds of orchids. The property also had its own fountain. Everything that was part of the house seemed expensive and nice. As the murderer observed the property carefully, he knocked the door three times. There was no answer. He knocked again thee more times and finally an old man, at the age of seventy-two appeared at the door. He was wearing a robe and seemed a little cranky. His face had a very dark complexion and you could tell he was near his death. He seemed very old although he was only seventy-five. The old man came to be known as the “scrooge” for his temper and his attitude of no generosity. Although he was loaded with money and wealth, he was not good in sharing and kept everything to himself. “What the hell do you want with me?”
“Well you see, I have a gift for you from someone.”
“Oh, really? Well, don’t just stand there, come on in.”
“Oh yes, I’d love to.” As the murderer went inside the house, he observed the house and looked around.
“House is pretty nice ain’t it? I love this place. It’s such a peaceful place and beautiful as well! I bought it thirty five years ago. Anyways, what do you have for me?” he said while handing him the tea.
“Well, it’s a check from this man in the name of Max McGlone. He wanted me to give you this check as a thanking present.”
“Ahh Max, how is he? He was such a great buddy. Max and I use to work in the same business for a while in some of the projects. You know that big twenty-five story building down the street? The red colored building? We’ll, Max and I built that. We had such a good time while doing that project. Oh it’s been a while since I’ve seen him. We’ll, anyways, why would he send a gift in such a time like this? It is pretty awkward and quite very unusual. I haven’t seen or talked to him in nearly fifteen years. Quite a long time I reckon.”
“I don’t know but he did tell me to give you this. He did not tell me anything else but that. I’m sure you guys were great buddies.”
“Alright, hand it over then.” As the old man leaned toward the murderer to receive the envelope, the murderer took out a paring knife from his jacket and stabbed him on the shoulder. The old man cried for help but there was no one else but him. As he was stabbed, he pushed the murderer off and ran for the kitchen. He quickly took out a pitch fork to defend himself. “What in the world do you think you are doing?” The murderer just ignored and slowly walked toward the old man. The old man went for the murderer and rammed him against the sofa. As the murderer was on the ground, the old man stabbed him with the pitch fork on the stomach. The murderer screamed in pain and dropped the knife. As the murderer looked around, he saw a lamp post. He took the lamp post and shoved it into the throat of the old man. As a last resort, the old man tried to stab the murderer with the fork but was too weak to do so. Blood was squirting everywhere and the old man was clearly dead. The murderer took the pitch fork and the paring knife that he had and stabbed him about sixty-six times. “That’s what you deserve old man for being so damn selfish.” He stabbed the old man on and on saying the same phrases. As the murderer was finished, he looked around to see the place. The whole place was covered in blood and his hands were bloody and wet. He had to get rid of all the evidences before anyone knew. He quickly stood up and thought for a moment to do with the body. First, he had to get ride of the body. The body was the key evidence and had to be hidden. At first he thought of burning the body but burning the body at such a night would make him a little suspicious. Instead, he decided to put it in a trash bag and put it in his car and burn it later. He went over to all the doors and checked if it were open. He locked it and made sure everything was secure. First, he had to clean himself up with all the blood stains. He took off his shirt and pants and burned it in the fire place. He got some clothes upstairs from the old mans closet and changed into the old man’s clothes. Next, he looked around the living room and saw that it was messy because of the fight. He took the lamp stands, the knives, and all the weapons or possible evidences and put it in a piece of bag as well. He decided to bring all the evidences to his car first and get rid of it later. He decided to go upstairs and explore for anything. He noticed that his wallet was in the table next to his bed. He took it and found a couple of hundreds and a couple of fifty’s in the wallet. He chucked it in the pocket and went downstairs. He tried to be as calm as possible but he couldn’t. He was sweating as if he was in the hot sun and although he had done what he wanted to do for a long time, he felt a strange feeling inside him. It wasn’t as new to him as he felt this before. He enjoyed the feeling and went on to his plan. He looked around once more to find any more evidences. He cleaned the blood on the tiles with a tissue but the stains on the sofa could not be washed. He decided to leave the stain and figured it wasn’t much of evidence. He was satisfied with his cleaning and decided to find a way to escape. He took a peak out of the window and noticed that there was barely anyone outside his window. He decided to be as natural as possible and swiftly walk to the car with the body and the weapons. He stepped outside and there was a crescent moon. There was barely any light and the murderer took advantage of it. He slowly and naturally walked toward his car. He opened his trunk and looked around to see if there was anyone out in the streets. There was no one there but himself. He put the body down and the weapons quietly and slowly closed his trunk. The murderer started the car and went to a place where he could burn the body and the evidences.
